When Will The Monsoon Season Start, Using The 'Old' Rules?

The 2009 Monsoon Season officially began on June 15th, based on the new system of finite start and end dates. However, we thought it would still be interesting to track when the start of the 2009 Monsoon Season would be, using the old set of rules.
For the monsoon season to begin, under the 'old' definition, the dew point must average 55°F or above for three consecutive days. This is where you can be the Meteorologist! Below, you will find instructions and graphics that will aid you in determining when the monsoon season has started in our area.

Current Dew Point: 59.2°F For the monsoon season to begin, under the 'old' definition, the dew point must average 55°F or above for three consecutive days. This is where you can be the Meteorologist! Below, you will find instructions and graphics that will aid you in determining when the monsoon season has started in our area.

Now that you have all the dew point information above, follow the instructions below to tell when the 2009 Monsoon Season has started according to the old rules!
1) Monitor the dew point values above, pay particular close attention to the Dew Point Distributions Chart, and the Dew Point Average. At the end of each day move to step two.
2) At the end of the day, if the dew point average is at or above 55°F then you can move to step three. You can use the dew point distribution graphic to see if over 50% of the day was at or above 55°F, or look at the text below the graphics to see what the daily average dew point was. If the dew point average is not at or above 55°F then go back to step one and continue monitoring the dew point conditions.
3) If you have made it to this step the 2009 Monsoon Season could be very near. Now, continue to monitor the dew point for the next two days. If you make it to this step again tomorrow and the next day, then move to step four.
4) If you make it to this step then the 2009 Monsoon Season has started!!!
