Description:
This map is displaying the current and past 60 minutes of lightning strikes for a max distance of 350 miles, which is updated automatically every one to two minutes. This map will automatically zoom to the furthest out detected storm. If no storms are detected the map will be zoomed out all the way. Across the very top of the map you will see white and green text. Below is what that text means, reading from left to right:
Strike Rate: Current Strike Rate Per Minute
AutoRng: The Zoom Level The Map Is At
Mode: Disregard, Used For Our Purposes Only
Persistence: Time Frame Of Plotted Strikes (Will Always Be 60 Minutes)
Time Shown In Green Is The Time The Map Was Created

The diamond shaped TRAC symbol is seen on the map when a thunderstorm cell is detected. From the TRAC
symbol you can get the storm identification number, dominating cloud to ground strike polatiry, strikes per minute and if the strike rate is increasing, decreasing or steady. This information is read from left to right. Below is some of the symbols used in the TRAC report.
